1.Prepare and eat a good breakfast.

Supply your children with milk and other sources of energy so that they would be filled with energy and have enough antibodies to resist such potential illnesses.
2. Be a model eater.
Kids generally mimic your habits when they are young. They tend to follow your lead – and as such, it is important that you would be able to show them how it is done. Do not say that you should eat vegetables and yet they see that you do not eat vegetables. They will not bother to eat any. Don’t say that you have to finish what is on the plate if they would see that you eat only a small portion of your meal. It would be defeating the purpose. Be a good model for eating and they would follow.
3. Refuse carbonated and sweetened drinks.
Refuse such liquids because they have high sugar content which would be bad for your overall health. Instead, serve and drink natural fruit juices fresh from the fruit itself. It may be a bit longer in preparation but it would be more nutritious and would set a good example for the children to follow.
4. Eat as a family as often as possible.
With this, you would not only strengthen the bonds that bind, but you would also be able to serve as much healthy food as possible. When you are eating out you do not have that much in the way of healthy food choices so you eat unhealthily. When you dine as a family, you would be able to serve good and healthy choices for your children to consume.
5. Have plenty of fruits and vegetables in your refrigerator.
Snacking is a must for some kids who need a little perking up. Instead of storing chips and other forms of junk food, store fruits and vegetables in your refrigerator and have them choose from time to time. You can also make salads and fruit shakes to further boost the immune system and have some healthier alternative to their usual routine.
