Planning a Kiddie Party on a Budget
Abby will be celebrating her birthday next month. While we don’t plan to give her a grand party, we wanted to give her a fun celebration so that she can celebrate her day together with her cousins and classmates.
Let me share with you insights we gained as we plan for her party.
Throwing a kiddie party is one of the exciting and stressful activities for parents as time and money are the things that need to be invested. Busy parents do hire events planner to just take care of these things but to those parents who don’t have the budget for it, here are some useful tips to help you have your kid’s dream kiddie party.
Plan ahead – the earliest time possible
This will give you time to canvass for the lowest price for a certain item and look out for party items sale on some thrift stores. This will also make you avoid spending pricey items in last minute shopping.
Choose the perfect time for the party
Choosing a time between after lunch and before dinner, maybe 2 PM to 5 PM, is the perfect one as guests will not expect a full meal.
Use e-invites instead of printed ones
People now are spending most of their time on social media and sending e-invites is more convenient, not only it will lessen your expenses but it looks cooler than the usual printed invites as well. Printed invites are meant to be thrown away after the party, so why bother to spend money anyway?
Check your connections
Do you personally know someone who can cater the food for the party? Or know someone who is creative enough to prepare the party set-up and souvenirs? You may even know someone who owns a large space, maybe a resort or what, which can be a perfect venue for the party.
Make a DIY-themed party
Preparing a DIY themed party is just a click away and all you need to do is buy stuff and let out your creativity. You can ask family and friends to help you with this one as you really need a lot of extra hands for this.
Make a homemade cake
Maybe you love baking or know someone who bakes? Try to skip the expensive cakes in the market and prepare homemade ones. You can also search for a lot of recipes online, from baking to the frosting, in order to make this possible.
Choose a simple menu
Kids are the main guests for this party and simple hamburgers and hotdogs and some sweets can already make them happy; try adding sandwiches to be served for adults that will come together with their kids. For the drinks, try making lemonades or orange juices that are served in pitchers instead of sodas in the can, more healthy, right?
